  • Responsible for LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation including VLANS, wireless, security, VPNs, remote access, authentication, and authorization.

  • Proficient programming Cisco, HP, Watchguard, and Cisco Access Gateway devices.

  • Responsible for Domain Controllers, AD, and Group Policy design, implementation, and documentation.

  • Responsible for Virtual Servers and server instances.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the SAN.

  • Designed, programmed and implemented hardware VPNs between temporary sites and PRS.

  • Lead facilitator of the migration from GroupWise to Exchange. This included installing Windows 2003 Enterprise x64 server, Exchange 2007 Enterprise Server, AD extensions, and Quest migration software.

  • Lead facilitator of the transition of Capitol Lakes site from the Meriter domain to their own domain.

Tekmanagement provides computer network consulting, planning, installation, and support services to business customers located in Southern Oregon.

  • Responsible for determining need, designing, quoting, configuring, installing, and maintaining network systems. Ongoing support ranges from break/fix to providing daily monitoring and administration of networks.

  • Provide network configuration for a regional dental practice networking 3 offices via VPN and configuring remote access for management.

  • Provide network administration for an international company. Maintain WAN that extends from Grants Pass to New Jersey, and multiple sites in Canada. Includes Exchange administration, Active Directory maintenance, patch management. Provide supervision of technician that performs daily monitoring of the network, backup, antivirus, services, and disk arrays.

  • Provided network services to a local company that has offices located in 5 Oregon cities. Network consists of mutiple Windows domain controllers, and a Windows 2000 Exchange server with over 300 accounts. Remote offices each have a Windows domain controller. Repaired various replication problems and integrated DHCP between subnets. WAN utilizes a combination of VLANS across a fiber switched network, and VPNs utilizing the internet.

  • A local agency contracted me to analyze their network and provide recommendations on how to increase their network security. Using a network monitoring program I identified various holes in their firewall. I replaced their firewall and recommended that their SMTP server be relocated outside their LAN.

TCM provides computer network consulting, planning, installation, and support services to business customers located in Southern Oregon.

  • Designed and supervised installation of more than 30 networks, both LAN and WAN, on the West coast using Microsoft Project, Visio, and Clicknet.

  • Merged The Computer Man, Inc. with Office Automation Brokers, (OAB) Inc. in 1996 to form TCM – Total Computer Management. Responsible for all aspects of developing this organization.

  • Created and developed five profit areas including: onsite service, in-shop service, maintenance contracts, hardware sales, and supply sales.

  • Responsible for all financial and technical functions.

  • Provided technical support to employees trying to pass MCSE exams.

The Computer Man provided computer solutions to accounting firms, health organizations, insurance companies, law firms, and title companies.

  • Created the company’s identity, mission statement, and product/service offerings.

  • Setup a local doctor’s office with Medisoft medical billing software.

  • Designed a program to access 650 million workers compensation records for local employment agency.

  • Hired and managed personnel that included administrative staff, salespeople, and technicians.

  • Established relationships with customers, vendors, bankers, advertisers, and lawyers.

January 1979 - July 1990Harris Computer Systems – Seattle, WashingtonMaster Support Engineer

My first job with a fortune 50 company.

Harris Computer Systems builds and services high-end UNIX simulation computers. A subsidiary of Harris Corporation, a fortune 100 company.

  • Developed software program, using FORTRAN, to track parts inventory. The Northwest district adopted this program.

  • Wrote computer program, in machine code, to verify the compatibility of magnetic tape units at the Boeing airplane simulation lab.

  • Responsible for training the Western region on using computer diagnostics.

  • Improved customer relations and equipment reliability by maintaining an up-time above 99%.

  • Authored the manual “Diagnosing Power Problems” that was adopted by Harris Computer Systems.

  • Supervised the maintenance and repair of over three hundred pieces of equipment and twenty-five technicians.

  • Responsible for running and interpreting the results from a CPM (Critical Path Method) program (early form of Microsoft Project). This CPM program was used to evaluate the progress of the 16 million dollar overhaul of the USS England and responsible for saving over 4 million dollars.

  • Designed BASIC programs to analyze the information from CPM programs.
